Bootable Preinstalled Enviroments (WinPE)

These are designed for newer computers, say since 2015 or so, I’ll put ones designed for older systems below. This is an incomplete list, but if I put every single release everyone made, it would just be a blog with links. Personally I like the Bob.Oms one , it has most if not all the stuff I need.

For older systems (Windows 7 or older)

If you would like to integrate these recovery images in your current windows install, just extract the boot.wim from the sources folder, change the name to winre.wim and replace it with your current one (generally found at C:/recovery/winre.wim) Now, when you press F8 it’ll boot into the WinPE instead of Microsoft versions.

To install these, I like to use Ventoy, you just use it to prep your USB stick and drag the images to the root of the drive, they will show up when you boot from it.
